Head Teacher's Overview
Welcome to the Meadow School's website where we hope you are able to see a little of something of what the school has to offer the children in terms of its ethos, its standards and its vision of the future.
The Meadow School is set in the beautiful village of Balsham, Cambridgeshire and is very much a community school, working in partnership with parents, governors and surrounding locality. It enjoys a lovely green site, with a large playing field, outside play equipment and swimming pool.
At the Meadow there is a will to succeed. The team spirit and commitment of all the staff in the school is remarkable as we endeavour to ensure that the 'friendly, workmanlike and dynamic' ethos continues to grow. The children are well provided for. Every effort is made to support the children and offer them opportunities to suceed, to learn, to put trust in one another, to feel safe that their unique characters are fostered and enjoyed through a varied and evolving curriculum.
As an Eco-School we take pride in the work we do to ensure the children understand their roles and responsibilities towards their immediate environment and beyond. The Meadow School believes it is important for the children to 'open up' their worlds and life-experiences and has worked hard to develop the international dimension of the curriculum alongside our work with Gontse School in Africa and have recently been awarded 'The International Schools Award'.
As ever, we strive to evaluate and improve our work to ensure the children who attend The Meadow Primary School are well equiped for our ever-changing world. If you would like to visit the school, please contact the office during school hours.
